Working from her home studio in East Sussex, Mariette’s practice centres on the emotional qualities of the human face. She is fascinated by how expression can be communicated through texture, movement, and the subtle relationships between posture and form.

Rather than simply capturing a likeness, her work aims to convey something of a subject's character and inner life, creating pieces that feel thoughtful, alive, and deeply human. She’s influenced by music, culture, poetry and even other artists like Spanish sculptor Eudald de Juana Gorriz.
